It’s Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down on Friday

I wish I could take Rebecca Black’s nasally advice to get it down this Friday, but unfortunately I am about to start studying for my final exams of second year. Since my first exam is Monday, I figure it won’t hurt to procrastinate a lil by posting a couple songs to honor how hard I truly would rave if I didn’t have to hibernate for the next month.

1. Louder Than Words (Digital LAB & Pedro Henriques Big Room Bootleg) - David Guetta & Afrojack

Woo, the buildup. If there is seriously someone out there who doesn’t get at least a bit hyped listening to this you should probably turn on Frasier and go to bed at 8:30pm instead of continuing to listen to this playlist.

2. E.T.(Benny Benassi Radio Edit)- Katy Perry

If you’re into top 40 hits but need a little extra pump-up in your jams, Benassi is your man. E.T. has had a tonne of remixes from popular DJs, but Benassi’s mix is by far my fave. Tiesto takes a shot remixing but it seems too urban-ish. Or something, I haven’t figured out what I don’t like about it yet. I’ll stick to Tiesto’s mix of Tegan and Sara’s “Feel It In My Bones” for my chill music, and blast the Benny Benassi all night long.

3. Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke Remix) - Wynter Gordon

There’s something about singing along to songs that feature a sexy voice with a really bumpin’ beat that makes me feel like a badass. Think about it, once you heard the lyrics to Far East Movement’s “Like a G6”, you were singing along dancing all provocative feeling like you, yourself was sippin’ sizzurp in your ride like three-6. What the hell does that even mean? Anyways, Laidback Luke’s remix of Wynter Gordon’s, “Dirty Talk” has got that same style of lyrics with an even yummier club beat.

4. Turbulence - Steve Aoki & Laidback Luke ft. Lil Jon

Ohhhh, Aoki. I passed up the chance to see him live in Sudbury last year, and man do I regret it. “Turbulence” is an awesome track with the typical hard drops from Aoki and a bumpin club beat from Laidback Luke. Overall, makes me wanna party AND has a pretty sick video. I actually think it’s hilarious just to watch Lil’ John ~~and his dirt stache~~ jump around in the clouds wearing a button up old man sweater. Classic.

..anyone else think he looks like Scar from the Lion King with those intense grills?

I completely agree with this, but I also hate the annoying, nagging, feeling when you have a party to go to and feel like you have nothing to wear. It’s my boyfriend, Chris’ birthday party tomorrow and all week I have snuck by my closet, dreading the time when I have to look inside and pick something to wear. It’s like when you get a big paycheck, or a sum of birthday money and it is burning a hole in your pocket - minus the having money part. Being a student and having no money sucks, but what I think is worse is that if I did have any, my number one priority for it would be to purchase this brand new dress to wear tomorrow. I sound like a brat, someone please cure my shopping addiction.
